Welcome to the Southeast
Area Website.
The southeastern portion of Sacramento County is almost as
notable for what you won't see as for what you will. Rather
than wall-to-wall offices, shopping malls and housing developments,
this community prides itself on vast amounts of open space.
Hobby farms and rural estates blend in with the pasture land
and fields. Smaller communities, such as Herald, are scattered
about the area. This portion of the County is also home to
Rancho Seco Recreation Area, with excellent boating, fishing
and camping opportunities. You can even tour a 75-acre wildlife
refuge. The city of Galt is is also located in this planning
area. The Southeast Area of our County remains one of the
best-kept secrets in Sacramento!
