The Delta community of Sacramento County is characterized
primarily by its quiet rural lifestyle. The area is criss-crossed
by numerous waterways, which divide the land into distinct
islands or tracts. Agriculture, (including grapes,) and outdoor
recreation/tourism are the prominent activities which take
place in the Delta area. The community hosts two well-known
festivals; the Pear Fair in Courtland, and the Crawdad Festival
in Isleton. There is also a wealth of history to be appreciated
in the Delta, including the historical town of Locke. The
Delta is truly unique as a getaway from the hurried pace
of much of the remainder of Sacramento County.
